WARNING: FURT BOARD GAME CAUSES BELLY LAUGHS AND CRAZY STUNTS
Tense Family Gatherings Can Find a Reprieve with Wacky, Wondrous Game

San Diego, CA – June 15, 2011 – Just in time for the holidays, Wiggity Bang Games, creators of the award-winning Quelf, have introduced FURT, a new party game sure to inspire fun and frivolity at any tension-filled family gathering.

It’s an all too familiar holiday scene for many: a peaceful family dinner and Dad gets on his political soapbox, Aunt Flo wants to know if you have anyone “special” in your life and Grandma can’t stop talking about her diverticulitis. Now there’s hope. FURT, a befuzzling, laughter erupting game, promises to be the antidote to tense moments and inappropriate questions.

In FURT, players race to be first into the fiery mouth of the FURT volcano with each roll of the color-coded die. Along the way, they might find themselves speaking like a robot, impersonating a stamp collector, doing fork acupuncture on their neighbor, or acting like a sugar donut, just to name a few.

“FURT is perfect for game nights, girls’ nights, family get-togethers, road trips to Vegas, frozen winter evenings in the Midwest, high school detention, prison riots, peace treaty talks and jury duty,” said Matthew Rivaldi, Wiggity Bang Chief Dang (aka president). “Any gathering that needs a good laugh added into the mix should be a FURT occasion.”

FURT has six unique categories that ask players to unleash their hidden talents, reveal things about themselves and crank up their imaginations, including:

Straight-Faced – One player has to keep a straight face and try not to laugh while the timer runs and the other players verbally assault them with their own choice of funny words.

Guess What? – Players can show off their drawing, acting or descriptive talents to try to get the other players to guess a word or phrase drawn from the volcano of options.

Truth or Fiction? – Players make up a statement about themselves using the phrase on the card, such as “I have a big problem with …” or “When I can’t sleep, I …”. Is it truth or fiction? The other players must guess.

You Are – In this category players are not themselves. Their card will tell them who to be for 30 seconds – anyone from a waitress in a busy diner to an architect building a skyscraper out of hot dog buns.

The Volcano Has Spoken – In this category, players must simply obey the FURT volcano’s whims. And it has some crazy whims including this one “The Volcano Has Spoken. And it said that you not only exude confidence, you also ooze spicy mustard. Good for you. Move ahead 3.”

What The?! – When players roll the die and land on blue, they’ll get a top secret What The?! card that they must complete before their next turn. The instructions could be anything from outrageous to annoying to downright weird.

In addition to the cards, FURT has some other wacky components in play:

Hot Spots on the board have players doing things like contradicting everything another player says, talking like a trucker on a CB radio or speaking in a foreign accent, among other things while on those spots.

The Volcano Cup is filled to the brim with Funny Word Cards that help players complete the instructions on their category cards.

Players win by being the first to make it to the mouth of the FURT volcano and withstanding the ultimate Straight-Faced Challenge, in which other players take turns saying funny words to try to make them laugh.
